Skool Info
The Claremont Academy handles Meta and normal children of ages 10-18. Those of ages 10-13 are are boarded off campus with their parent(s).They attend day classes and are served lunch on the second floor of the cafeteria .
Freshmen: Freshmen of age 14 are boarded on the first floor of the dorms, and are boarded two to a room. Metas of this age are not allowed to form teams, but often join older groups as an apprentice(Side Kick). Adventuring in groups or solo is forbidden, when a school supervisor is informed, those involved are given demerits and often several sessions with the school concealer to ensure they understand the safety risks involved in heroics.
Sophomores: Sophomores of age 15 are boarded on the first floor of the dorms and are boarded two to a room. Metas of this age are allowed to form with older teams, provided there is an older student to lead. Adventuring without groups at this age is allowed, but requires a supervisor (Senior, school supervisor or a well standing hero). The supervisor may require any safety requirements they see fit, which typically include, constant radio contact, person mounted camera, mental link or observation, or physical presence.
Juniors: Juniors of age 16 are boarded on the second floor of the dorms and are given singles. Metas of this age are allowed to form teams, lead, and solo adventure with proper approval. Due to recent events, most Juniors are given more freedom, needing only approval of one teacher to act on their own.
Seniors: Seniors of age 17 are boarded on the 4th floor of the dorms. Metas of this age are given rooms in the sub basement by request. They form the core of the Claremont groups, and often choose students of younger age to begin their own teams or join teams of this age to adventure with their peers. Restraints on their coming and goings are often lifted by this year, and some students may disappear for days or weeks at a time on secret missions.
Graduates: Graduates of The Claremont can go on to attend prestigious universities all over the world. World famous institutes often visit the Claremont to interview potential students or athletes. The Claremont is well known for preparing students for the rigors of vigorous studies abroad. Meta Graduates tend to gravitate around the school, as Freedom City is a hot spot of activity in the meta world. Though, several students have moved on to other cities to serve as protectors. New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Nashville, Miami, Orlando, Chicago, New Orleans, St Louis, Kansas City, Dallas, Houston, Tulsa, Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Seattle, Emerald City, San Fransisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles are popular destinations for Metas that all require fresh heroes regularly. International students are free to return to their country of origin after studying with the school. The world is a large place for a hero or student who applies himself to the Claremont experience.
College: Fully accredited studies at the Claremont often lead to successful college credits, and students are given the opportunity to study in advanced classes that offer them a jump start on other high schools. Metas are always welcome to return to the Claremont for advice on tactics or assistance with tougher criminal types. Duncan is often seen giving advice to college age students who attended the Claremont.
Beyond: After graduation, a class reunion is planned every ten years. The classes are brought in for 2 weeks during the summer session, and given tours and the chance to donate toward the school's various programs. As Meta students are relatively new to the school, so far, none have reached the 10 year graduate status.
